“Oops! All Cats:”

A Passion Project Zine with Adopt a Pet Fenton

Project Overview:

“This project is a collaborative zine created for Adopt-A-Pet Fenton to celebrate the quirks and cuteness of new feline family members. Originally intended as a project involving pet memorial design, this passion project evolved into a joyful and silly take-home piece for new pet parents. Featuring internet-inspired cat personalities and fun illustrations, it merges compassion, creativity, and community.”

A Tale of Tails:

The Story Behind “Oops! All Cats”

“What started as an idea to honor pets who had passed—through collaborations with cremation services—quickly evolved into something more grounded, accessible, and joyfully chaotic. After navigating outreach challenges and time-sensitive adoptions, I partnered with Adopt-A-Pet Fenton to create a playful, illustrated zine called Oops! All Cats!—a keepsake for new pet parents and a celebration of internet culture’s favorite animal.

Though my original idea to make personalized adoption cards didn’t quite pan out (turns out good pets get scooped up FAST!), this project transformed into something collaborative, fun, and memorable. It reflects my adaptability as a designer and my passion for meaningful storytelling. Oops! All Dogs is currently in the works and expected summer 2025!”

Field Research

"While visiting Adopt-A-Pet Fenton to gather field research and better understand the emotions and personalities of the animals, I would bring little treats like plain Timbits and snap photos of the pets from unique, playful angles. Ironically, almost half of the pets I photographed were adopted that very same day — which really highlighted the challenge of creating custom cards for each pet parent, since the turnover was way faster than expected!"
