Meet the Artist behind Twisted Tabby Designs

“Hey there! I’m Asya—designer, illustrator, pet parent, and full-time enjoyer of good food and storytelling through art.

I was born and raised in Michigan, and I’ve always had a creative streak—probably because I spent a lot of time indoors as a kid due to a weak immune system. Drawing became my comfort and creative outlet early on, and it’s stuck with me ever since.

I’m currently based in Michigan with my amazing fiancé—we’ve been together for almost a decade—and our adorable chaos crew: two sphynx cats named Ducky and Goose, two tabbies named Meatball and Budweiser, and our golden retriever Minka. Life is loud, cuddly, and full of personality (just how I like my art).

When I’m not designing or drawing, I love traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time outdoors with my dog. I’m a big believer in bringing humor, warmth, and a bit of whimsy into everything I do—whether that’s through a brand, a zine, or a silly doodle of a cat in a costume.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet- Im so glad you’re here!

Meet the Family!

My fiance, Ian

I’ve been with my fiancé for nearly a decade, and he’s been one of my biggest sources of support, encouragement, and inspiration along the way. He’s cheered me on through every creative project, late-night drawing session, and design panic spiral. Whether we’re traveling, watching movies, or just hanging out with our pets, he keeps me grounded and laughing. I feel really lucky to have him by my side.

Little Things that Make Me, Me

“Outside of design, I’m usually doing something hands-on, whether it’s running cardio at the gym, grilling a mean steak, tending to my jungle of houseplants, or making friendship bracelets just for the fun of it. I also love thrifting and hunting for weird little treasures that spark joy (and usually end up inspiring something in my art).

I take on commission pieces for friends and family in my free time—usually pet portraits or off-the-wall character ideas. I’ve traveled to places like Japan and Costa Rica, but I still haven’t made it to New York or California, somehow. And just so we’re clear: I’m a terrible baker. Like, impressively bad. I keep trying though!

My life wouldn’t be the same without my pets, my fiancé, and my close circle of friends and family—they make everything richer, funnier, and more meaningful. I’ve always had a deep love for animals. I grew up with a house full of them, and I’ve been passionate about rescuing and adopting for as long as I can remember—in my childhood I even adopted a goat in secret to save him from a meat farm. That kind of heart-first chaos pretty much sums up the spirit behind Twisted Tabby Designs—where the weird, the warm, and the wildly personal all come together.”
